These guidelines were made to keep our community enjoyable and peaceful, and to keep our forum a level ground for all photographers to share and learn about photography. The Administrator and Moderators will strictly implement the rules mentioned in the guidelines and will edit, move, delete, lock, close, ban & warn threads or members who overlooked & disobeyed these rules. Rules subject to change to improve our forum
I. Personal Profiles
1. USERNAMES
All members are required to use their real name as their username / login name in the forum. A first and last name is required and incomplete first or last names are unacceptable. Nickname is acceptable as first name. Display name format <First name><space><Last name>
Valid : Paulino Santos
Not valid : paulinosantos, psantos, paulino
2. AVATARS
Your avatar size is only limited to 80 x 80. Your avatar must not contain an offensive image. Animated GIF files are allowed.
- To set your avatar, go to your Profile, Forum Profile Information, and click on the I have my own pic. You can link a photo from a hosting site.
3. SIGNATURES
Signatures with the following are not allowed and will have to be edited:
- Signatures that includes obscene and violent images.
- Signatures that includes offensive sentences and phrases particularly meant as an attack to another member, whether direct or indirect.
To add a signature on your messages, go to your Control Panel (User-CP) and Click on Edit Signature to go to the Signature Editing Screen.
4. PRIVATE MESSAGES
Please be mindful of your Private Message Inbox and Outbox. You have a combined maximum of 10 messages, once you reach the maximum number of messages you will not be able to send or receive private messages until you delete some messages.
II. Posting
1. SEARCH BEFORE POSTING
Use the search button before you create a new thread. Redundant posts clutter the forum and may cause our server to clog. The Search Button can be found on the Nav Bar on top.
2. POST IN PROPER CATEGORIES
Please start New Threads and Post your replies on the proper topic categories. Threads and Posts that are not in the proper categories will be moved or merged by the Admin or Mods. Redundant threads will be deleted without notice.
3. USING TEXT SPEAKING AND ALL-CAPS
The following are not allowed:
- Use of text shortcuts that are difficult to read.
- ALL CAPS posting, this would be same as using a megaphone while talking face to face
- Posting an entire message in boldface.
- Posting of entire messages in Size 3 or larger fonts.
Posts with these will be edited without notice.

4. OFF TOPIC and THREAD-JACKING.
Though all threads in the forum are open for discussion, be mindful of the thread topic and post within the topic discussed. Please do not start a different topic within a thread originally discussing another one. Members posting off topic messages or those thread-jacking will be warned and persistent off topic messages or thread-jacking posts will be deleted.
5. QUOTES
You are able to quote any post(s) in your reply on a thread. But please refrain from quoting Photos as this will result in duplicate photos which in turn will result in longer loading time of pages and the posts and replies will also be harder to read. As we are encouraged to give our Photos titles, let us instead quote the Title alone without the Photo. Moderators may edit your posts and remove quoted photos at any time.
III. Forum Behavior and Conduct
It is expected and understood that members who sign up to this forum are educated and in the right age of comprehension. Therefore, there is no need to explicitly define what good manners and proper conduct are expected from all members. We encourage using the Private Message to settle member differences. Airing one's dirty laundry in public is a turn off, especially among educated and learned professionals.
Posts of these kinds will be edited or deleted by the Admin or Moderator without notice.
IV. Posting Photos
You are not permitted to attach a photo in the forum, however you can link a photo from a web host (flickr, photobucket, picasa web, multiply, etc.) to your message to share them to the other members or for a constructive c&c.
Please add a Title to your Photos for easy reference and identification.
To post your photo, copy the image address/link from your web host and press Insert Image button on the toolbar of your message edit box, paste the image address/link to the Insert Image box and press ok.
Please limit your photos to a maximum of 600 pixels on the longest side to prevent slow loading times when viewing threads with multiple photos.
In photography ethics, it is always good practice not to take another photographers work for any reason without the photograph's owner's consent. In this forum, grabbing of images by another photographer and re-editing them to your liking is frowned upon and will no longer be tolerated. Even with proper credits given to the owners, it's their personal property and only they have the right to present the photographs as they see fit. However, owners may request their photographs re-edited as they wish by others but the owners should post their permission/consent on the thread and the re-edited photos can only be posted on the same thread.
Let us extend this little courtesy to our fellow photographers. If you wish to give your comments to improve on a photographers work, give your points of view and possible workflow.
Gensan Camera Club, it's Officers, site administrator and moderators will not be held responsible for any legal / moral damages to the models & persons you publish. The Admin/Moderators have the right to delete and move the topic(s) and photos that deem inappropriate.
V. Selling Items & Services
- Post a photo of the item you are selling if possible.
- Always post the price of the item or services you are selling.
- Do not be a habitual seller. This forum is NOT a marketplace to sell goods for profit. Please use the Market Market board accordingly.
- Do not hi-jack threads.
